Illustrations

Juvenilia Press volumes are distinguished by original illustrations that aim to enhance the text. In the words of Shannon Goetze, one of our artists, "the creative process of illustration requires the careful examination of the text, and then the selection of appropriate passages to illustrate which best animate and express the written material."In most of our editions the illustrations require historical and contextual research (see Student Contributions).

Several illustrators have chosen to work on more than one volume, as each new text provides a unique opportunity to exercise and develop one’s craft.

We are proud to showcase the work of some of our artists here, and invite you to follow the links below to each artist’s gallery.
